Not stopping there, with high determination, Ca Mau is moving towards breakthrough development towards the sea with ambitions to turn the southernmost land into the "southernmost continent" from building a bridge across the sea to Hon Khoai, building Hon Khoai deep-water comprehensive seaport; opening a highway to Dat Mui; upgrading and expanding National Highway 1, Ho Chi Minh road. "Not only connecting seamlessly and smoothly on land, reaching out to the sea, but the aspiration to make Ca Mau take off and fly high and far is gradually becoming a reality, so that this land becomes a destination for investors, an export center of the region. That is from the project to upgrade and expand Ca Mau Airport being implemented", Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai proudly informed.
50 years ago, after the liberation, on the revolutionary land of Ca Mau there was nothing but forests and crisscrossing rivers and canals, the economy relied entirely on low-quality agriculture because everywhere was salty water and sour fields. However, with all the enthusiasm, solidarity and loyalty of generations of homeland children, Ca Mau has now risen strongly, becoming beautiful and rich. The breakthroughs in transport infrastructure that have been and are being created will bring Ca Mau on par with the whole country and enter a new era - the era of national growth.
In recent years, in response to development requirements in the period of innovation and integration, along with central investment capital, Ca Mau province has always allocated most of its capital from excess revenue, savings funds... to invest in developing connected infrastructure, creating a picture of complete road traffic, building the foundation and driving force for rapid and sustainable development.

The project to upgrade and expand Ca Mau Airport has handed over the site. The project is invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV), with a total capital of about 2,400 billion VND, using 100% of ACV's equity, to ensure the operation of A320, A321 aircraft and equivalent; create momentum for economic, cultural and social development, while ensuring security and defense of Ca Mau province and the region.

With the aspiration to reach out to the sea and get rich from the sea, in 2025, a bridge will be built to Hon Khoai Island, and at the same time, Hon Khoai Deep-Water Seaport will be built, connecting to the expressway, contributing to making Ca Mau an export center of the region.
