According to the Ministry of Education and Training's plan, the virtual filtering process for university admissions will take place from August 13th to 5 PM on August 17th and will be conducted six times. Each day, participating universities will work with the Ministry of Education and Training to follow the correct procedures for receiving data, organizing the selection process, and sending the selection results to the system. All admission methods (approximately 20 methods) will be reviewed in a single round on the Ministry of Education and Training's system.
After the final virtual filtering process is complete, universities will enter the admission scores and selection results into the system, review them, and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule. Thus, after this period, universities can announce the cut-off scores and admission results to candidates.
The Ministry of Education and Training requires universities to announce their admission scores no later than 5 PM on August 19th. Each candidate will only be admitted to their highest-ranked choice.
Recently, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced its intention to release the admission cutoff scores for 64 majors and training programs on August 17th, based on the results of the aptitude test and the 2024 high school graduation exam. Similarly, the Banking Academy also plans to announce its cutoff scores on the same date.
Meanwhile, the National Economics University announced that it expects to release the admission scores on August 19th. Some universities, such as Hanoi University of Industry and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, are expected to announce their admission scores on August 19th.

This year, more than 733,000 students nationwide registered for university entrance exams out of a total of over one million students taking the high school graduation exam. Approximately 337,000 students dropped out of university admissions, a decrease of 2.6% compared to last year.
Based on the exam score distribution, university representatives predict that this year's admission cutoff scores will increase, especially for the C00 combination (Literature, History, Geography). Some universities have also provided specific forecasts for certain "hot" majors.
For example, Hanoi University of Science and Technology predicts that the admission scores for its majors may increase slightly compared to 2023, by 0.75 points. In particular, three of the university's majors – Computer Science , Computer Engineering, and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence – may have admission scores above 28.
Hanoi Medical University predicts that the cut-off scores for Medical and Dentistry programs may exceed 28, due to a decrease in the number of places allocated solely based on high school graduation exam scores and an increase in the overall score distribution. Besides these two programs, the expected cut-off scores for other programs based on high school graduation exam scores are also higher than last year.
The National Economics University predicts that the cut-off scores for top-tier majors may increase slightly by about 0.25 points. For mid-tier majors, the cut-off scores may increase more significantly, from 0.5 to 0.75 points.
Foreign Trade University predicts that the admission scores for this year may increase slightly, but not across all subject combinations. The increase is likely in combinations such as A00, D01, etc.
