It's been a long time since volleyball fans in Ho Chi Minh City have had the chance to witness top-level matches, so they are eagerly awaiting the first Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Tournament. At the press conference announcing the tournament held today in Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of the organizing committee stated that the tournament will feature eight men's teams: Binh Duong, Ben Tre , Tra Vinh, Long An, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Police, and Visakha Club from Cambodia.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police volleyball team is a strong contender for the championship title at the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Police Open Volleyball Tournament.
Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City Police men's volleyball team has recently received significant investment, boasting many veteran and renowned names in Vietnamese volleyball such as Nguyen Van Hanh, Giang Van Duc, Pham Thai Hung, Le Quang Doan, and Lam Van Sanh, as well as the addition of foreign player Hiroshi Centelles Rosales (Cuba), making them a strong contender for the championship title.

Announcing the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Tournament - 2024
Colonel Bui Ngoc Giap, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Steering Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the tournament was held on the occasion of the Ho Chi Minh City Police receiving the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, coinciding with the traditional day of the People's Police Force (August 19). The tournament is an opportunity for southern volleyball teams to gain experience, improve their professional skills, and develop their competitive spirit in preparation for future tournaments. With the support of various units, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Tournament aims to be held annually.
According to the draw results, Group A consists of 4 teams: Ho Chi Minh City Police, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, and Ben Tre, while Group B consists of Ho Chi Minh City Police, Visakha, Long An, and Binh Duong . The teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals and finals. The prize for the champion is 60 million VND, the runner-up 40 million VND, and the third-place team 20 million VND.
The opening and final matches of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Open will be broadcast live on VTV9.
