Banks continue to aggressively issue corporate bonds.

According to the Ministry of Finance, regarding the primary market situation, data from July 1, 2024 to July 26, 2024 shows that there were 56 successful private placement corporate bond issuances with a volume of approximately 45 trillion VND (a decrease of 15% compared to June 2024; an increase of 57% compared to the same period in 2023).

Broken down by type of issuing enterprise: Credit institutions issued 35.1 trillion VND (accounting for 78% of the issuance volume), real estate enterprises issued 5.5 trillion VND (accounting for 12.1%); enterprises in other sectors issued approximately 4.4 trillion VND (accounting for 9.9%).

By secured bond type: VND 6.3 trillion in secured bonds were issued (accounting for 14% of the total issuance volume). Of this, secured bonds from real estate companies accounted for 86.5%; bonds from credit institutions were unsecured.

According to the Ministry of Finance, in the first seven months of 2024, there were 174 successful private placement corporate bond issuances with a total volume of VND 161.5 trillion (2.6 times higher than the same period in 2023).

Of this total, credit institutions issued over 109 trillion VND (accounting for 67.5% of the total issuance volume), real estate businesses issued nearly 38.7 trillion VND (accounting for 24%); and businesses in other sectors issued 13.8 trillion VND (accounting for 8.5%).

If categorized by secured bonds, 24 trillion VND of issued bonds had collateral clauses (14.9% of the total issuance volume). Of these, secured bonds from real estate companies accounted for 84.4%; bonds from credit institutions were unsecured.

The volume of early buybacks was VND 88.8 trillion (down 36% compared to the same period in 2023).

According to information from the Hanoi Stock Exchange, in the first seven months of 2024, the total trading value reached VND 566,857 billion, with an average daily trading value of approximately VND 4,049 billion per session.
