Attending the Congress were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee; leaders and former leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and 260 outstanding delegates, representing the great solidarity bloc of the whole people in the province attending the Congress.

"Specialty" of Lang Son Great Solidarity Festival

Talking about the situation of great national unity in Lang Son, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, commented: Ethnic minorities in Lang Son always promote the tradition of solidarity, trust and well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, make many efforts to participate in economic development, sustainable poverty reduction; preserve and promote traditional cultural values ​​of the nation.

The spirit of solidarity is expressed in daily life, but is most noticeable in the National Great Unity Day (November 18 every year), which has now become a "specialty", a practical need of the people of Lang Son.

The number of residential areas that organized both the ceremony and the festival increased by 11.06%. During the past term, 3,214 collectives, 28,974 outstanding households and individuals were recognized and rewarded at the National Great Unity Day. Many high-ranking leaders of the Party, State, ministries, and branches of the Central and local levels attended the festival, increasing the spirit of solidarity, closeness to the people, and respect for the people, making the relationship between cadres, party members, especially leaders, and the people increasingly closer.

Also from the closeness of the Front cadres to the people, the movements have become easier than ever. Through movements such as: "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" and the movement "Lang Son and the whole country join hands to build new rural areas", they have contributed to changing the appearance of urban and rural areas, improving and enhancing the quality of people's lives.

In the period of 2019-2024, the whole province mobilized people to support the construction of new rural areas with over 500 billion VND; donated over 1 million square meters of land, and contributed nearly 800,000 working days.

By the end of 2023, the whole province had 98 communes meeting new rural standards, including 22 advanced new rural communes, 4 model new rural communes; 147 model new rural residential areas; 55 model gardens; 88/102 extremely disadvantaged villages in border areas meeting new rural standards. Through the programs, it has contributed to ensuring social security, reducing the poverty rate (according to new criteria) of the province by an average of 3.28%/year; the number of households achieving cultural families increased by 6.19%; "Cultural residential areas" increased by 6.88% compared to the beginning of the term.

Lang Son has a 231.74km long border, with 474 national border markers. Carrying out the task of mobilizing resources to support the construction, management and protection of border lines and markers, contributing to maintaining national border sovereignty , the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard Command to advise the Provincial Party Secretary to sign an Open Letter to launch a special campaign to support the construction of border marker inspection roads and border protection.

As a result, all levels, sectors, organizations, individuals, and business communities inside and outside the province responded strongly and contributed and supported a large amount of funds and construction materials; ethnic minorities in the border areas and officers and soldiers of border posts participated in the labor day with over 26,000 people.

From 2022 to present, the total amount of socialized cash, provincial budget, construction materials and labor days converted into money is worth over 40 billion VND; 283 border marker inspection roads have been built, protecting the border with a total length of over 53 km. The 283rd project is a project to welcome the provincial congress, inaugurated in June 2024...

Inheriting the achieved results, in the 2024 - 2029 term, based on the reality and requirements of the Front's tasks in the new period, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lang Son province determines the goal of strengthening the core political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, promoting the strength of great national unity, contributing to building Lang Son province to develop rapidly and sustainably.

The Congress identified 3 breakthrough tasks, 10 targets and 6 action programs for the 15th Congress to discuss and agree on implementation in the new term.

To make the Front the center of great solidarity

Besides praising the achievements of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in Lang Son province during the past term, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Hoang Cong Thuy also highly appreciated the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province for frankly pointing out the shortcomings and limitations in the work of the Front as stated in the Political Report.

From the assessment of the actual situation in Lang Son, Vice Chairman Hoang Cong Thuy suggested issues for the Congress to discuss. In particular, he focused on innovating the way of thinking and doing, improving the quality and effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements and campaigns with the motto: Think honestly, speak honestly, do honestly, get real results, and benefit the people.

Vice Chairman Hoang Cong Thuy suggested that Lang Son pay special attention, spend a lot of time, enthusiasm and creativity in implementing two major contents: the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister and the Action Program "Building self-governing, united, prosperous and happy residential areas".

Vice Chairman Hoang Cong Thuy noted that Lang Son needs to continue to be determined, persistent, and focus more on training and fostering cadres, especially key cadres, full-time Front cadres, and grassroots Front cadres. The goal is to build a contingent of Front cadres who are truly prestigious, dedicated, dynamic, dare to think, dare to do; always work with the spirit of "thinking, seeing, listening, walking, speaking, and doing", "respecting the people, being close to the people, understanding the people, learning from the people, and being responsible to the people", so that the Front is truly the center of the great national unity bloc.

The Congress democratically elected 75 members to join the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, term XV, 2024-2029; unanimously elected the Lang Son Provincial Fatherland Front Delegation to attend the 10th Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029, including 6 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, term XIV, 2019-2024, was consulted to continue holding the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, term XV, 2024-2029.
