Concluding the first leg of the SEA V.League 2024 women's volleyball tournament, outside hitter Tran Thi Thanh Thuy did not travel with her team to Thailand for the second leg. The 1997-born player returned to Binh Duong to visit her family before heading to Turkey to join the Kuzeyboru club. In her second overseas stint, Thanh Thuy has received high expectations from fans. This is another opportunity for the 26-year-old to compete alongside big names, while also gaining experience and improving her skills. At Kuzeyboru, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy will be provided with a luxury apartment and a car for daily commuting to training. These favorable conditions will help her focus on training, competing, and contributing to her new team. Recently, Thanh Thuy has faced significant pressure due to a long period of absence from competition because of a knee injury. This prevented her from performing at her best in the two recent tournaments, Future Stars and the SEA V.League 2024. At times, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet only used her at the beginning of sets 1 and 2 in each match to help her regain her feel for the ball and confidence before going abroad. Thanh Thuy had previously performed very well while playing for the PFU Blue Cats club in the Japanese national championship. This served as a stepping stone for her to return to the court and shine in the colors of a European team, as Turkey is one of the world's leading women's volleyball nations. If she performs well, Thanh Thuy will have more opportunities to get closer to other volleyball powerhouses and attract the attention of many foreign teams. The female athlete, born in 1997, is at the peak of her career, so she needs to seize this opportunity. Regarding Thanh Thúy's move to Türkiye to compete, coach Tuấn Kiệt once shared that 2024 was a year of remarkable progress for Thanh Thúy. This aligns with her desire to compete in Europe. Coach Kiệt added that this is a positive sign and will create a positive wave influencing Vietnamese women's volleyball players in the future.
