
On August 6, at the headquarters of the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Matsumoto Takeaki held talks to discuss promoting cooperation programs between the two countries in the field of information and communications.

At the meeting, the two sides shared policies and development strategies on digital infrastructure and digital economy, initiatives to promote the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, deploy 5G networks according to OpenRAN standards, data management, ensure information security and safety, prevent fake news, toxic news, develop digital human resources and digital skills to build a digital society.
Bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the field of information and communications has been continuously expanded in recent times, with many programs and projects on post, telecommunications, information security, and ICT industry.

To further promote cooperation activities, contributing to strengthening the relationship of “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World”, the two Ministers signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on information and communication cooperation, focusing on expanding cooperation in postal and ICT between agencies, organizations and businesses of both sides.
