The postage stamp set “ASEAN Stamps” introduces the image of the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office building, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications on August 8, on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations - ASEAN.
Including 1 borderless stamp measuring 43 x 32 mm, with a face value of 4,000 VND, Vietnam's "ASEAN Stamp" is available on the postal network until June 30, 2026.
The stamp set "ASEAN Stamps" has just been introduced to the community, designed by artist Nguyen Du, Vietnam Post Corporation, in a graphic style with a blue background - the color of peace in the back, further highlighting the beauty of the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office building.

Ho Chi Minh City Post Office is one of the typical architectural works of the city named after Uncle Ho, built between 1886 and 1891, located at 2 Cong Xa Paris Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1. An architectural work with a history of more than 130 years, the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office building has a Western style combined with Eastern decoration.
In addition to its function as a telecommunications and postal transaction location, the Ho Chi Minh City Post Office building is also a cultural highlight of the city, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists to visit. The overall yellow color of the building, repainted in 2015, is the original color of the building, also the brand color of Vietnam Post.

Sharing with VietNamNet reporters, the Vietnam Post Stamp Department said that the newly issued “ASEAN Stamps” is the third set of stamps in the ASEAN common stamp issuance project approved by the postal services of member countries at the 22nd ASEANPOST conference held in November 2015 in Malaysia. In addition to having a common theme, the stamps in the ASEAN common stamp series also have a common logo printed on them. This is the logo of a Vietnamese artist who won the highest prize in the ASEAN stamp logo design contest held in 2016.

Previously, in 2017 and 2019, ASEAN postal services issued two sets of stamps with the themes “National Flower” and “National Costume”. In these two ASEAN stamp releases, Vietnam chose to introduce the lotus flower and the traditional Ao Dai.
The “ASEAN Stamps” issued this year also mark the fifth time ASEAN countries have issued joint postage stamps. In addition to the three sets of stamps with the same theme and the same logo, ASEAN member countries’ postal services have previously issued two other joint stamp sets.
Specifically, the first set is the "ASEAN Joint Issue Stamp", issued on August 8, 2007, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of ASEAN, including 10 designs depicting typical architectural works of 10 countries in the region, namely: Secretariat Building, Brunei Darussalam; National Museum of Cambodia; Fatahila Museum Jakarta, Indonesia; Typical House, Laos; Kuala Lumpur Railway Headquarters Building, Malaysia; Yangon Post Office, Myanmar; Malacca Palace, Philippines; National Museum of Singapore; Vimanmek Castle, Thailand; Presidential Palace Hanoi, Vietnam. In addition to 10 designs of stamps per sheet, ASEAN postal services also issue a block of 10 stamps depicting unity and community.

Then, in August 2015, ASEAN member countries issued the second set of joint postage stamps with the theme “Welcoming the ASEAN Community”, including a 37 x 37 mm square stamp, designed by Vietnamese artist Vu Kim Lien.
To issue the stamp set “Welcoming the ASEAN Community”, since the beginning of 2015, ASEAN countries have agreed to organize a stamp and seal design contest, from which the best design will be selected to issue the common stamp set. As a result, the ASEAN Secretariat has selected the stamp and seal design of a Vietnamese artist. Based on the winning work, the jury has commented, edited and sent it to all ASEAN countries for printing and issuance in each country.
