Over 600 delegates will attend the Congress of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front.

According to Nguyen Sy Truong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, for the term 2024-2029, has the task of comprehensively evaluating the situation and results of implementing the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, term 2019-2024, drawing practical lessons, and unifying the direction, tasks, and action programs for the term 2024-2029.

The Congress will discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress and propose amendments and additions to the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; it will also elect the City Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front with a reasonable number and structure, a suitable expansion ratio, ensuring representativeness, practicality, and exemplary patriotism, as well as competence, dedication, responsibility, intelligence, and prestige; and it will elect the delegation to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The objectives of the Congress are to continue building and consolidating the great national unity; to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation; to diversify forms of propaganda and mobilization, promptly synthesize and guide public opinion to ensure it is truthful and consistent with the Party's viewpoint; to effectively perform the function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people; to strengthen consensus, promote socio -economic development, accelerate the cause of industrialization and modernization, build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, and build a cultured, civilized, and modern Hanoi...

The Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City also identified three breakthroughs: Strongly innovating the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the city towards benefiting the nation and the people, being flexible, effective, and adaptable to the new situation; promoting the core political role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in building the great national unity bloc, contributing to building a cultured, civilized, and modern capital city; improving the quality of social supervision and criticism, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people, practicing democracy, strengthening social consensus, and contributing to building a clean and strong Party and government.

According to Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Sy Truong, a new feature in this Congress program is that there will be 5 forums for exchange and discussion on specific topics, organized in 5 districts.

Besides the main activities, the three-day Congress will include: the opening of a photo exhibition, a "Unity and Creativity" space, and the launch of the "18th Congress" application. A cultural program celebrating the success of the Congress will be held simultaneously at the Ba Kieu Temple area, 58 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hang Trong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, and at five locations belonging to the five emulation clusters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City: Long Bien, Cau Giay, Thanh Tri, Phu Xuyen, and Son Tay on the evening of August 23rd.
