Amidst a sea of golden-orange blossoms, the 2024 Rice Foliage Festival became even more vibrant and captivating with a series of cultural activities and folk games bearing the hallmarks of the Northwest region. The sea of rice flakes became the stage for the H'Mong people's flower flute dances and the lively drum performances of the Red Dao people.
During the festival, visitors from 9 Northwestern provinces (including Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien and Tuyen Quang) will receive up to 50% discount on cable car tickets to the summit of Fansipan.
Right in front of Bich Van Zen Temple, hundreds of tourists enthusiastically joined in the traditional bamboo pole dance. Visitors also excitedly checked in at the blooming flower fields perched precariously along the path to the summit of Fansipan, experienced culinary activities such as pounding sticky rice cakes and making five-colored sticky rice, and participated in lively programs and explored the traditions of the local ethnic groups.
“I will definitely remember the feeling of pounding rice cakes at an altitude of 3,143m. Being able to chat, eat cakes, and admire the mountains in this cool weather is truly wonderful,” Duc Trung from Thai Nguyen added.
