While Israel remains wary of any potential retaliation from Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon, which could trigger a full-scale conflict in the Middle East, Tehran has just made a new move.

On August 11, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported that the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was conducting military exercises from August 9-14 in Kermanshah province in the west, bordering Iraq.
An IRGC representative stated that the exercise aimed to enhance combat readiness and increase vigilance.
The military exercise took place amid Iran's declaration that it would retaliate against Israel following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31. Iran and Hamas accused Israel of being behind the attack, while Israel neither admitted nor denied the accusation.
Meanwhile, in Israel, the Walla news website, citing sources, reported that the country anticipates Iran will launch a direct attack on Israel in the coming days, before the planned ceasefire talks in Gaza and hostage exchange, scheduled for August 15, in retaliation for the assassination.
Intelligence assessments from Israel also revealed a shift in Iran's stance compared to previous days. Accordingly, Iran is reconsidering a strong response to the assassination of the Hamas leader due to pressure from the international community.
According to the source, the issue of retaliation is causing division within Iran. President Masoud Pezeshkian wants to avoid a strong reaction, while the IRGC wants to launch a major attack. Currently, there is still no consensus within Iran on this matter.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared on August 11th that Iran and Hezbollah have "threatened to inflict unprecedented damage in ways they have never used before. Whoever does that should think that we will respond in ways never before seen"...
Israeli officials also warned: "We have considerable capabilities. I hope they will take this into account and not wage war on other fronts."
