7th Hanoi - Fukuoka (Japan) Cultural and Educational Exchange

2024 marks the 7th year of the cultural and educational exchange program between Hanoi and Fukuoka (Japan). Five schools in Hanoi are participating in this exchange and cooperation program: Viet Duc High School, Tran Phu High School, Phan Dinh Phung High School, Newton Secondary & High School, and Phenikaa Secondary & High School.

As part of the program, 49 students from Fukuoka Prefecture (Japan) will be welcomed by Vietnamese families to live, interact, and experience life with them from now until August 9th.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that the cultural and educational exchange program between Hanoi and Fukuoka aims to strengthen the cooperative and friendly relationship between the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Fukuoka Private Education Association (Japan), promote foreign relations, and contribute to deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan.

The activity also helps both sides share information and experiences in educational management and teaching, especially in Vietnamese and Japanese; helps Japanese students better understand and love Vietnam, and promotes the image of Hanoi and Vietnam to friends around the world.

"In the context of increasingly deep exchanges between the people of Vietnam and Japan, this program will contribute to further strengthening mutual understanding and close friendship between the people of Vietnam and Japan in general; and the warm feelings between students and schools in Hanoi and Fukuoka in particular," emphasized Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Representatives of the Fukuoka high school student delegation shared that this visit and exchange program for Japanese students in Hanoi is an opportunity for them to learn about Vietnamese culture, including culinary culture. This is a useful activity that contributes to strengthening cultural exchange between students of the two cities; it is also an opportunity for teachers from Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, to visit schools in Hanoi to learn about and study the advancements in Vietnamese education...
