According to Mr. Co, extending the examination hours at Bach Mai Hospital aims to meet the healthcare needs of the people, contributing to reducing overcrowding and improving the quality of medical services. From 5 PM to 9 PM today, patients can arrange their schedules to come for examination.
Expanding clinic hours to meet the needs of the people.
According to the leaders of Bach Mai Hospital, the hospital receives 7,000 to 8,000 patients for examination each day, and on some days the number can reach 10,000.

When visiting Bach Mai Hospital, you can schedule an appointment and choose your preferred doctor.
The general mindset of people going for checkups is to arrive early in the morning on weekdays, believing in the saying "early checkup, early results, early finish." Morning checkups on weekdays also allow for convenience in fasting if certain procedures are required. Because of this mindset, Bach Mai Hospital is often packed with people seeking medical care on weekday mornings. Many people from other provinces arrive at the hospital as early as 3 or 4 in the morning.
Mr. Co believes that by extending the examination hours from 5 PM to 9 PM (Wednesday to Friday), people can easily arrange their schedules to conveniently come for examinations. At the same time, the hospital will still maintain its reception time from 6 AM.
"Having examinations in the afternoon, outside of regular hours, gives people more options for appointment times and allows them to choose doctors according to their needs," Mr. Co shared.
Extended consultation hours, but no increase in service prices.
The Director of Bach Mai Hospital also affirmed that after-hours examinations still include all specialties and clinical tests and imaging as during regular working hours, without any change in cost.

The Director of Bach Mai Hospital stated that he and the hospital's doctors and medical staff have registered to participate in patient examinations until 9 PM, according to the assigned schedule.
Mr. Co also pledged that the hospital would provide a full range of clinics and specialties during regular working hours, including: endocrinology, gastroenterology, musculoskeletal, neurology, respiratory, nephrology-urology, cardiology, infectious diseases, hematology, intensive care, obstetrics, pediatrics, ENT, dentistry, ophthalmology, dermatology, etc. All specialist clinics are located in the same K1 building (Giai Phong Street); the imaging, ultrasound, endoscopy, and laboratory rooms are also located in the same building and are staffed by personnel from the Social Work Department.
Bach Mai Hospital estimates that for patients undergoing blood tests, imaging, ultrasounds, etc., full results will be available within 2 hours. For cases requiring only ultrasound or routine X-rays, complete results will be available within 1 hour, allowing doctors to make diagnoses and prescribe medication.
Arrange shifts appropriately.
"Through surveys and observations at the hospital, doctors and nurses, after their working hours at the hospital, still take advantage of overtime work at private clinics and medical facilities to earn extra income. Therefore, implementing overtime work right at the hospital will create favorable conditions for medical staff to avoid traveling during peak hours, still be able to examine patients and perform surgeries right at the hospital, and at the same time earn a legitimate additional income," added Dr. Do Van Thanh, Head of the Personnel Department of Bach Mai Hospital.
With the expansion of consultation hours, doctors and nurses at Bach Mai Hospital who wish to work overtime can register on a voluntary basis. The hospital has devised a plan to assign personnel in appropriate shifts to ensure their health, balance between work and family, and allow them time to rest and rejuvenate.
According to Mr. Thanh, the leadership of Bach Mai Hospital is committed to ensuring that revenue generated during evening consultations, after deducting financial obligations to the state and the hospital, will be converted into income for healthcare workers. This is a legitimate and legal additional income for all employees who voluntarily participate.
According to the director of Bach Mai Hospital, the hospital has conducted bidding procedures to purchase medical equipment to serve its professional work, with a series of modern medical equipment systems (including 4 MRI machines, 3 multi-slice CT scanners, 19 gastrointestinal endoscopy systems, 7 endoscopic surgery systems, etc.) currently in use, ensuring service for patients.
"With the addition of four MRI machines, the hospital now has seven MRI machines, along with a dedicated team of personnel. Patients can essentially have their MRI scans done on the same day without having to wait," said the Director of Bach Mai Hospital.
From 6 AM to 9 PM (Monday to Friday) and from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Saturday and Sunday), patients will have many options for medical examinations at Bach Mai Hospital.
