On the other hand, the US announced a sharp drop in weekly initial jobless claims, exceeding forecasts. This eased investor concerns about a recession in the world's largest economy .
Consequently, market expectations increased that the US would significantly cut interest rates in September, potentially causing the dollar to depreciate, which would benefit gold prices.
Therefore, during last night's trading session, gold speculators aggressively bought. The world gold price today, at 6 AM on August 9th, reached $2,425 per ounce, an increase of $40 compared to the price at the same time the previous day, which was $2,385 per ounce.
Earlier in Vietnam, the price of SJC gold dropped sharply by 500,000 VND/ounce to 78.5 million VND/ounce. The price of gold rings produced by SJC and PNJ companies was sold at 77.3 million VND/ounce.
