In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice was at $448/ton; 5% broken rice remained stable at $559/ton; and 25% broken rice was at $535/ton.
According to forecasts, Vietnam's rice exports will pick up by the end of 2024 as import demand from traditional customers increases. However, India's consideration of easing its rice export policy or the risk that Vietnam will not have enough rice to export are considered factors that could cause fluctuations in the rice export market by the end of 2024...
Thailand is expected to export 8.2 million tonnes of rice this year, up from a previous forecast of 7.5 million tonnes, thanks to demand from major markets, higher expected output and a weak local currency, the Commerce Ministry said.
Thailand exported 5.08 million tonnes of rice in the first half of 2024, up 25% from a year earlier. Rice exports were supported by demand from major markets, including Indonesia and the Philippines, and a weak baht.
