Pursuant to Decision No. 2004/QD-BVHTTDL dated July 22, 2024 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on organizing the "National Circus Talent Competition - 2024", the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Department of Performing Arts to preside over and coordinate with the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi City, the Vietnam Circus Federation and relevant agencies and units to organize the "National Circus Talent Competition - 2024" from August 9 to 13 at the Vietnam Circus Federation.

Participants in the Contest are Circus artists currently working at public and non-public Circus art units (units with legal status, operating continuously in the field of Circus art performance for 12 months or more up to the time of participating in the Contest); students studying at Circus art training facilities nationwide.

This year's Circus Talent Competition has the participation of nearly 100 artists and actors from 04 units: Phuong Nam Art Theater, Vietnam Circus and Variety Arts College, Hanoi Circus and Variety Arts Theater, Vietnam Circus Federation with 20 performances.

Categories registered for the Competition include: Acrobatics, juggling, balancing, magic, comedy, animal training.

Requirements for the entries, entries must be performed twice, and must demonstrate the basic characteristics of the Circus art form. Newly staged, experimental, creative and original performances are encouraged. Costumes, props, and music must meet the content of the performance and the actors' acting techniques. The performance must be complete, with a performance duration of 7 to 12 minutes on stage. Units and individuals need to choose performances with sufficient material for the actors to express their talents, skillful techniques expressed through techniques, art and highly professional performance style, creating deep impressions and good emotions for the audience.

Performances that have won awards in previous Circus Competitions and Festivals organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism can only compete when one of the creative participants such as: the stager, trainer, or actor has not won a Gold Medal or 02 Silver Medals; the Jury will only review and score the creative component that has not won an award.

Within the framework of the National Circus Talent Competition - 2024, there will also be a Street Circus parade with special performances by professional artists participating on Tran Nhan Tong walking street and around Thien Quang Lake.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will have the following forms of rewards: Awarding First Prize and Second Prize to performances associated with creative elements such as: stagers, trainers, actors who meet the criteria in the Judging and Awarding Regulations. Awarding an excellent prize to 01 stager and 01 trainer with outstanding creativity in performances participating in the Competition./.
