Comrade Mai Van Chinh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Organization Department, announced Decision No. 1419-QDNS/TW, dated August 1, 2024, of the Politburo approving the appointment of Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, as Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Presenting the Politburo's decision and speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Le Minh Hung emphasized that Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh is a well-trained cadre; he rose through the ranks from the grassroots level and has held many key leadership positions. In every position he has held, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh has always upheld a high sense of responsibility, strived diligently, dared to think and act, and successfully completed the tasks assigned to him, earning the Politburo's trust and being entrusted with this new important responsibility.
Comrade Le Minh Hung requested that Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, in his new position, continue to build upon his work experience; inherit the lessons learned from previous leaders; promote pioneering and exemplary qualities; and be a unifying force with the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee to continue successfully implementing the goals set forth in the Son La Provincial Party Committee's Resolution.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh thanked the Politburo and the Secretariat for their trust in assigning him this new task. As the head of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, he deeply understands that this is an honor, but also a great responsibility before the Central Committee of the Party, the Politburo, and the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Son La province.
Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh pledged to do his utmost, continuously study and train to improve his political acumen, maintain moral character, set an example, learn from and absorb the experience of previous generations of leaders, and wholeheartedly work together with the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee, and the Party Committee of Son La province to promote the spirit of unity and overcome all difficulties and challenges to further develop Son La province and successfully achieve the goals set forth in the Party Congress Resolution and the Provincial Party Congress Resolution.
Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, of Thai ethnicity, was born on September 2, 1969, in Chieng Pan commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province. He joined the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1999; he completed 12 years of secondary education; his professional qualifications include a PhD in Economics, a Bachelor of Law, and advanced political theory; he holds the title of Senior State Inspector and Senior Specialist Certificate. From August 1988 to July 2003, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh studied and conducted research in the Russian Federation.

Prior to being elected as Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh worked at the Son La Provincial Party Committee Office and held the following positions: Vice Chairman and Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Yen District; Secretary of the Phu Yen District Party Committee; Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Son La Province; Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Inspection Committee of Son La Province; and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La Province.
On this occasion, Comrade Le Minh Hung, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Organization Department, and the delegation offered incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple in Tay Bac Square, Son La City.
