On the morning of April 11, at Squadron 11, Coast Guard Region 1 Command (Hai Phong City), the working delegation led by Major General Tran Van Hau, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 1 Command, and leaders of Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Quang Ninh provinces and a number of relevant agencies and units set out to carry out the task of surveying and grasping the situation of coastal seas and islands in 2025. Joining the working delegation were comrade Nguyen Hong Duong, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors of Quang Ninh province.

The activity aims to survey and grasp the situation of coastal seas and islands, survey the potential for marine economic development; visit, encourage, and give gifts to officers, soldiers, and people living and performing tasks on Bach Long Vy and Co To islands... Through this activity, it aims to build and further promote the solidarity between the army and the people.

The working group will also disseminate knowledge about the sea and islands, mobilize people to comply with the law, especially regulations on combating IUU fishing; patrol, inspect, control, maintain law enforcement, prevent smuggling and trade fraud at sea.

Speaking at the meeting with the local working delegation, Major General Tran Van Tho, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1, requested that members of the working delegation thoroughly understand the purpose and tasks of the trip; strictly implement regulations on ensuring safety during the performance of tasks.

The delegation's survey trip is expected to take place from April 11 to 15 with many diverse activities such as: Propagating and introducing the history and culture of the places on the sea route; visiting the martyrs' cemeteries on Bach Long Vy and Co To islands; paying courtesy calls and listening to information from the Party Committees and authorities of the island districts about the security, political, economic and social situation in the area; visiting and giving gifts to families with meritorious services and poor students who have overcome difficulties; propagating and disseminating legal knowledge to fishermen...

Coastal seas and islands play a particularly important role in the construction and protection of the Fatherland, therefore, it is urgent to regularly grasp the field and promptly update changes in nature, socio-economics and maritime security and safety in coastal seas and islands. This survey trip is an important basis for local Party committees and authorities to study and plan maritime policies in accordance with practical situations, while improving the coordination capacity between the Vietnam Coast Guard and localities and relevant functional forces in effectively managing the seas and islands of the Fatherland.
