Less than a year after Prime Minister Srettha came to power in a deadlock general election in Thailand, Thai politics is once again plunged into instability by the Constitutional Court's decision on Wednesday to remove him from office.

Currently, the Pheu Thai Party is facing a choice between Chaikasem Nitisiri, a veteran figure within the party, and Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
The selection of Ms. Paetongtarn could be risky due to her family's history in politics , with both her father and aunt having been removed from the position of Prime Minister of Thailand in previous coups.
The Pheu Thai Party coalition currently holds 314 seats in the Thai House of Representatives and is expected to have no difficulty electing a new prime minister if the coalition remains strong.
However, the final decision on choosing Srettha's replacement will significantly impact the future of the Pheu Thai Party in Thai politics and the political fate of Shinawatra.
