On August 19, 2004, the Digital Television Editorial Board was established with a team of nearly 50 people, and on September 2 of the same year, they launched their first television program.
From January 1, 2014, the station officially separated from VTC Corporation, becoming a public service agency under the Ministry of Information and Communications . By the end of 2014, VTC was transferred from the Ministry of Information and Communications to the Voice of Vietnam - the nation's leading media agency under the Government.
Journalist Tran Duc Thanh, Director of VTC Digital Television, shared that 20 years is a very important milestone. Over 20 years of innovation, creativity, and dedication, VTC has gone through many ups and downs, and each stage has left its mark on history.

According to Mr. Thanh, 20 years is a long journey, and also the youth of several generations of station staff. Thousands of staff members have nurtured many aspirations and overcome many challenges to achieve VTC's success.
"Everyone has their own value, and for VTC, we choose to value ourselves in the most sincere way. A VTC that started with daring to think and act, creating breakthroughs. Following that, a more creative, innovative, and courageous VTC, knowing how to overcome challenges to establish a larger scale and position," the Director of VTC affirmed.
The Director of VTC Television Station acknowledges that the future of television and digital media holds many difficulties and challenges, but also opens up many new opportunities and advantages. He believes that the values built by previous generations will be the foundation for VTC staff and employees to be more confident and determined in achieving further goals.

Speaking at the anniversary ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that when talking about Vietnam's television industry, it is impossible not to mention VTC Television.
"Promoting the application of new television technologies and fostering competition are VTC's contributions. VTC employees have every right to be proud of their contributions to the Vietnamese television industry. The Ministry of Information and Communications always acknowledges these contributions," Minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated.
Looking back at the history of VTC, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung shared that 20 years ago, when all television at that time still considered analog technology as a "safe zone," VTC was eager to develop terrestrial digital technology.
VTC Television has created its own unique identity and competitive advantage by promoting technological collaboration and content sharing with local radio and television stations. The station was also the first to launch three specialized television channels based on a public service procurement model funded by the state budget.
The Minister stated that, for organizations, 10 years is typically a period. VTC Television has gone through two periods, experiencing both ups and downs.
The first 10 years are about starting a business, establishing a career, "having nothing to lose, nothing in hand, but a big dream. Material possessions are scarce, but spirit is abundant...", this is usually the healthiest period of development. Thanks to this, VTC has risen to the top of television stations.

Ten years later, VTC Television separated from VTC Corporation. Upon separation, it had to operate as a public service unit with a primary political mission, rather than a business one.
For the past 10 years, VTC has always carried the burden of its past. "The fact that you have survived as you have, continued to develop, and remained a major television station of the country is already a miracle," the Minister of Information and Communications assessed.
The Minister stated that the next 10 years will be a new chapter in the development of VTC Television, "that new chapter is in the hands of the people at VTC. The future is always created by us; let's start with a big dream...".
The Minister expressed his hope that the spirit that shaped VTC Television in its early days would serve as the foundation for writing a new chapter in the next 10 years. The Ministry of Information and Communications has confidence in the future of VTC Television and will work alongside the station in resolving difficulties and obstacles, as well as in developing orientations, mechanisms, and policies.
"In this era of digital transformation, what is most needed is 'courage.' Following that courage comes selfless hard work. Because of that selflessness, we will gain energy and guidance from heaven and earth. And then success will come," the Minister expressed.
According to Do Tien Sy, Director General of the Voice of Vietnam , the establishment of VTC Television 20 years ago was a strong impetus for Vietnamese television, creating new momentum and promoting the television sector; changing thinking and working methods from traditional to modern.

The past 20 years have been a period of many challenges, changes, and fluctuations, but VTC Television has gradually stood firm on its own two feet, with a system of television channels rich in content and a transmission system covering the entire country.
VTC Television has become an important information channel of the Party and the State, serving as a means of disseminating political tasks, while also vividly reflecting all aspects of social life and conveying the words and aspirations of the people...
The VTC journalistic team works diligently to produce hundreds, even thousands, of works and programs that leave a positive impression on viewers.
"VTC's broadcast waves have spread far and wide, reaching even the most remote horizons, highlands, border regions, islands, and all corners of our beloved Vietnam, as well as our compatriots abroad," Mr. Do Tien Sy assessed.
After pointing out the difficulties and challenges, the Director General of the Voice of Vietnam requested that VTC Television Station make positive, appropriate, and rapid adaptations, and should promote the strength of unity and continuous creativity to avoid being left behind.
