Although it was a free class, everything from tools to ingredients was meticulously prepared by Ms. Hanh. From simple, easy-to-make cakes to elaborate, traditional cakes, Ms. Hanh provided dedicated instruction.
Besides offering free classes, Ms. Hanh also regularly bakes and sends cakes to charitable organizations. Maintaining this for over 10 years, Ms. Hanh's baking classes have helped many baking enthusiasts start their own businesses in this field.
"About 5-7 years ago, there were about 2 classes a week, depending on the season. For example, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, there were a lot of students, maybe 2-3 classes a week. Later, as I got older and my health deteriorated, I only opened classes on Sundays. I would announce when classes were available on Facebook or Zalo. If you were interested, you could register, and each class had about 20-30 students."
"When students come here to study, some work to support their families, some work for charity, and some work to start businesses and sell goods," Ms. Hanh shared.
