In early September, Ms. Rose, a Spanish teacher in France, contacted Thanh Nien Newspaper, hoping for help in her journey to find her biological mother.

Maybe the mother is in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City

It all started more than a year ago, when the French girl accidentally watched a movie about a Korean adopted daughter in France. Seeing herself in that story, Rose was deeply moved and from here, her desire to find her Vietnamese birth mother suddenly arose strongly.

The French girl began to search through old records that had been carefully preserved by her French adoptive parents for the past 27 years, realizing her desire to find her biological mother. Accordingly, her Vietnamese name is Huynh Thi Diem Ha, born on April 28, 1997 at Tu Du Maternity Hospital (HCMC).

The mother gave her name as Huynh Thi Thu Thuy, a housewife. For some reason, the mother left Ha at the hospital on May 2, 1997 and was then transferred to an orphanage in Thu Duc for care.

Not long after, little Diem Ha was adopted by a French couple. Growing up in the peaceful countryside of Semoussac, the Vietnamese girl was given a new name and lived in the immense love of her adoptive parents. She said she was very lucky and extremely grateful for that.

However, the longing for her roots was always present in the French girl’s heart. She decided to find her biological mother because she wanted to know about her past. “I met a Vietnamese friend who was also a mother and had to go through difficult moments but still loved her children.

She talked to me and it made me realize that life is not easy and many Vietnamese women have to go through difficult things alone. They are really strong! She told me that I should know my birth mother's story and I feel ready to hear it now!", Rose said emotionally.

According to important information provided by Rose's foster family, the mother declared her address as "219/9 Au Duong Lan Street (Ward 8, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City)". She said she asked someone to go to this address but it was incorrect, and she could not get any information.

Foster parents support

Mr. Pascal Robin and his wife, Rose’s French adoptive parents, currently live in a village in Accous near the border with Spain. They said that since childhood, they have never hidden their daughter’s origin and background, creating conditions for her to be exposed to Vietnamese culture.

Rose's adoptive mother, Marie Robin, was overjoyed to learn that her daughter intended to find her roots. The kind mother hoped that her daughter would have good luck on this journey and that all her questions about her origins would be answered. In return, her daughter was extremely grateful to her mother for that.

“I want to thank my biological mother for giving birth to me. Regardless of what happened in the past, I am truly grateful for being present in this life. We all have to go through difficult times, we cannot change the past but we can try our best to make the present better. I hope that my mother is healthy and happy. If she has a family, I would also like to know about her siblings,” the French girl shared.

Having traveled to Vietnam in 2019, Ms. Rose loves the cuisine and the Ao Dai. Besides, she loves the beauty of nature as well as the friendliness of the Vietnamese people. She remembers the journey to see the sea and mountains in Da Nang, and to Hoi An, which is as beautiful as a dream.

The French girl is currently teaching Spanish in the countryside of Masseube and is extremely happy with her job. In the near future, she will continue to return to Vietnam on a special journey to find her mother, and she will not give up until she gets the results.
