TPO - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has appointed Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Research, to the position of Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Research.
On the morning of August 2nd, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to present personnel appointment decisions. The ceremony was presided over by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Phan Van Mai.
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Bac Nam, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs, announced the decision of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to appoint Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Research, to the position of Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Research.
The term of office is 5 years.

In his remarks assigning the new Director, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai expressed his hope that the new Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Research would lead the unit to become an excellent center, a hub connecting other agencies, and at the same time effectively advise the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee, and departments and localities on the city's development orientation in the coming time.
In addition, research should connect resources to make a worthy contribution to the city's construction and development.
Chairman Phan Van Mai also requested that the Party Committee, leaders, and the entire staff of the Institute unite and work together to support Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu in successfully carrying out his duties.

"One of the institute's tasks, and also its action plan for the coming period, is to focus on building a team where each person in this unit is a brilliant mind, an outstanding individual capable of transforming what they learn from the outside and applying it to the city's practical situation," Mr. Phan Van Mai instructed.
Upon assuming his new role, Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu thanked the city's leadership for their trust in assigning him this new responsibility, and also expressed gratitude to the staff of the City Development Research Institute for their support over the past period. Mr. Vu pledged to continue strengthening the institute's development and connecting its resources to live up to its role and responsibilities.

Dr. Truong Minh Huy Vu, born in 1984, hails from Tien Giang province. He holds a Master's degree in Public Administration, a PhD in International Management, and a Senior Certificate in Political Theory.
Mr. Truong Minh Huy Vu previously served as Director of the Center for International Studies and Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. He was then appointed Deputy Director and later Director of the Software Technology Park at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. He has held the position of Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Research since December 2022.
