On his personal page, expert Romano wrote: "Hertha Berlin and Leverkusen have just signed a transfer agreement for Ibrahim Maza. Accordingly, the current German champion team will spend 12 million euros on this deal."

Maza is half Vietnamese. His father is Algerian and his mother is Vietnamese. However, Ibrahim Maza has German nationality because he was born in Germany. This player was trained early in a top environment at famous academies in Europe, then quickly matured and played for German youth teams before officially joining the Hertha first team.

However, in a harsh environment like German football, it is very difficult for a player playing in the lower leagues like Maza to break into the national team. That is why he chose to play for his father's homeland: Algeria. In the recent 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the 20-year-old player occasionally played for this African team.

Maza has been working hard for his club. As a striker or attacking midfielder, Maza is the first choice of the capital team. This season, he has scored 7 goals and had 3 assists in 32 matches for Hertha Berlin in Bundesliga 2. That form has helped the Vietnamese-born player catch the eye of Leverkusen, the reigning Bundesliga champions.

In addition to the 12 million euro contract, many sources said that he will be paid up to 1.5 million euros/season at Bayer Arena. Maza's contract with Leverkusen is valid until 2030.

Besides Leverkusen, Stuttgart was also interested in Maza. However, with the reputation of a team with a knack for young players, Leverkusen became Maza's choice.

Maza's move to Leverkusen is noteworthy news not only for Vietnamese football fans but also for German football fans because he is one of the most interesting players in Germany. Next season, this talent will have the opportunity to compete with the top stars of the Bundesliga, and also compete in the Champions League.
