" A DAY'S TRAVEL, A BUNCH OF WISDOM"

At the 2025 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship that just ended in the Philippines, VTV Binh Dien Long An Club excellently won the runner-up title, thereby winning a ticket to participate in the 2025 World Women's Club Volleyball Championship scheduled to take place in December. This is the first time the Long An team has participated in a world-level tournament, but it is the third consecutive time that Vietnamese women's volleyball has won the right to participate in this top-notch playground.

In 2023, the Vietnamese volleyball team, called Sports Center 1, won the Asian Women's Club Championship, thereby winning a ticket to the World Women's Club Championship. However, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy did not participate in that year's world tournament due to a contract to compete in Japan. Last year, LPBank Ninh Binh Club, with the excellent performance of Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, won the runner-up position in the Asian Women's Club Championship, thereby winning a ticket to the World Women's Club Championship.

In the 2023 and 2024 World Club Championships, due to facing extremely strong opponents, possessing a star-studded cast of women's volleyball in the world, the representatives of Vietnamese women's volleyball were "powerless" and could not create any surprises. However, it was a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese players to test themselves, learn, and experience the atmosphere of top-level volleyball matches in the world. It was also the motivation for Vietnamese women's volleyball to continue to invest, thereby building a strong force from the club level to the national team.

C FACE THE WORLD SUPERSTARS

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has not yet announced the host of the 2025 Women's Club Volleyball World Cup. The tournament attracts a total of 8 participating clubs, including: 2 teams ranked first and second in Asia, Zhetysu (Kazakhstan), VTV Binh Dien Long An; 2 teams ranked first and second in South America, Praia (Brazil), Alianza Lima (Peru); 1 African champion, Zamalek SC Club (Egypt); 2 European teams (not yet determined) and the host team.

Among the above opponents, Brazil's number 1 team, Praia Club, is very formidable when possessing excellent faces such as Sofya Kuznetsova, Payton Caffrey, Nia Reed, Macris Carneiro... In addition, the representative of Vietnam also has the opportunity to face the top teams in Europe, which are also the top teams in the world of women's volleyball. It is likely that the current champion of the Women's Club World Cup, Imoco Volley Conegliano Club (Italy) and former champion Vakifbank Istanbul (Turkey) will win 2 tickets to represent Europe to compete in the Women's Club World Cup, when these 2 teams are both present in the semi-finals of the European tournament. The famous Vakifbank Istanbul Club owns superstars such as Zehra Gunes, Cansu Ozbay, Helena Cazaute, Frantti.

T THANH T HUY MISSED THE APPOINTMENT?

According to the preliminary schedule, the Women's Club Volleyball World Cup will take place in December 2025. This is also the time when the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will focus on competing in the 33rd SEA Games (taking place from December 9 to 20 in Thailand). The VTV Binh Dien Long An Club recently had 5 national players: Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Nguyen Tra My, Vo Thi Kim Thoa.

Therefore, if the Women's World Club Championship coincides with the 33rd SEA Games, it will be a great disadvantage for the clubs as well as the athletes. Because these players will focus on the important goal of wearing the Vietnamese women's volleyball team's jersey to conquer the SEA Games gold medal that Vietnamese fans have been waiting for for a very long time.

The leader of VTV Binh Dien Long An Club said that the success in the Asian Women's Club Championship is the motivation for the whole team to conquer new goals. When the official schedule from the Organizing Committee of the World Women's Club Championship is available, VTV Binh Dien Long An will have specific preparations for both domestic and foreign players.
