Mr. La Ngoc Duong - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Lieu district, shared: Currently, not only growing cinnamon, Binh Lieu has expanded the association of 4 houses to grow organic cinnamon. In Huc Dong commune, a model of organic cinnamon growing has been implemented with over 100 hectares.

"Currently, Huc Dong commune is propagating and guiding households to follow the instructions of specialized agencies to increase the value of cinnamon harvest in the area and aim to increase the area of ​​organic cinnamon cultivation in the coming time" - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Lieu district emphasized.

Cinnamon is also considered an oriental medicine with many health benefits such as pain relief, blood sugar control, anti-aging... the most important of which is its anti-cold effect, fighting against winter infectious diseases such as colds, flu...

Chairman of Huc Dong Commune Dinh Tien Dung said that in the commune, there are 498 households growing cinnamon with an area of ​​412 hectares. Every year, the commune directs, propagates, and mobilizes people to change the crop structure, focusing on cinnamon trees, because cinnamon trees are suitable for climate and soil conditions. The value of cinnamon trees is about 520 million/ha. In the area, there are currently 6 establishments purchasing cinnamon for the people.

Cinnamon is a familiar spice in Asian cuisine, with a characteristic sweet and spicy aroma and taste, often used in braised or grilled dishes or to make tea.

After drying, arrange the cinnamon bark neatly in a box or bundle it in plastic bags. Do not let the cinnamon bark break, as this will reduce the quality of the cinnamon.

Forestry economic development has made an important contribution to helping Binh Lieu people increase their income and improve their lives. By the end of 2024, the average income will reach 75.5 million VND/person/year. Binh Lieu district aims to continue diversifying economic models, applying science and technology, striving to reach the standards of an advanced new rural district by the end of 2025 with an average income of 100 million VND/person/year.
