Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia presents gifts to families entitled to preferential treatment.
At the event, the local authorities reviewed the tradition of the National Day for Protecting National Security. Accordingly, 19 years ago, on June 13, 2005,
the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 521/QD-TTg designating August 19th as the National Day for Protecting National Security. Since then, the National Day for Protecting National Security has been solemnly and annually celebrated in residential areas, agencies, businesses, and schools.
Over the years, the National Security Day, held throughout the country and particularly in
Tien Giang province, has become a significant event, fostering trust and close ties between the people and the Party, government, and armed forces. The annual event is organized with many vibrant and practical activities, strongly focused on the grassroots level, contributing to encouraging and motivating cadres, Party members, and all segments of the population to actively participate in nationwide movements to protect national security, thwarting all plots and activities of "peaceful evolution" by hostile forces; building and strengthening national defense and security, and ensuring political stability and social order.

Speaking at the National Security Protection Day in Binh Dong commune, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, acknowledged and praised the achievements in building the national security protection movement of Tien Giang province in general, and the government and people of Binh Dong commune in particular, over the past period. He affirmed that to protect national security, the people must be the foundation.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia donated 5 solidarity houses to poor households in Binh Dong commune.
Looking ahead, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels in Tien Giang province pay attention to leading and directing the effective implementation of the nationwide movement to protect national security, in conjunction with other emulation movements, mobilizing the combined strength of the entire political system and the whole population, contributing to ensuring security and order, and protecting the peaceful and happy lives of the people of Binh Dong commune in particular and Tien Giang province in general. Each cadre and Party member must set an example and take the lead in the nationwide movement to protect national security, deeply understanding the aspirations and feelings of the people, and working for the benefit of the people; the policies and campaigns must be in line with the people's will, within their capabilities, and for the benefit and legitimate demands of the people; and continue to innovate the content, form, and methods of building the nationwide movement to protect national security, ensuring practicality and suitability to the circumstances of each locality and unit, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation.

Recognizing the efforts of organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the National Movement for Protecting National Security in 2024,
the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with Tien Giang province and other localities, has awarded numerous Certificates of Merit and Commendations to organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in this movement.
The hamlets of Binh Dong commune, Go Cong city (Tien Giang province) signed a commitment to participate in the nationwide emulation campaign to protect national security.
Also at the event, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia presented gifts to the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Dong commune; donated 10 gifts to policy beneficiary families, each worth 2 million VND; and 5 solidarity houses for poor households in Binh Dong commune, Go Cong city (Tien Giang province), each house worth 50 million VND. On the same day, the delegation also donated 771 sets of textbooks for all levels, worth over 123 million VND, and 60 scholarships to disadvantaged students at Ward 2 Primary School, Go Cong city, each scholarship worth 1 million VND. Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony for students of Ward 2 Primary School, Go Cong city, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia praised the achievements of the teachers and students of Ward 2 Primary School in the past. Although the school still lacks facilities and many students face
economic difficulties, the teachers and students of the school have strived to teach well and learn well; To inspire a love of learning in students.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his hope that with these gifts, the students would overcome difficulties and be further motivated to continue studying hard, being well-behaved, and worthy of being good children of Uncle Ho.
These students received scholarships from the Central Propaganda Department.
