DNVN - On August 2nd, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) and the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation. Accordingly, ASIC will continue its programs to support and enhance the capacity of the SSC.
Mr. Joseph Longo, Chairman of ASIC, highly appreciated the cooperative relationship with the State Securities Commission of Vietnam. This memorandum of understanding will create a basis for the two agencies to establish a mechanism for sharing official information. At the same time, it will strengthen technical cooperation related to the management and supervision of the securities market, and promote investor protection.
“ASIC will continue its capacity-building support programs for the State Securities Commission of Vietnam. We are always ready to provide activities including technical assistance, training, and strengthening Vietnam’s regulatory infrastructure,” Mr. Joseph Longo emphasized.

Chairperson of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (UBCKNN) Vu Thi Chan Phuong and Chairman of ASIC Joseph Longo signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the UBCKNN and ASIC.
According to the Chairwoman of the State Securities Commission, Vu Thi Chan Phuong, the Vietnamese stock market is increasingly asserting itself as an important medium- and long-term capital channel for the business community and the economy . It is an attractive investment channel for domestic and foreign investors, including those from Australia.
“The Memorandum of Understanding signed today between ASIC and the State Securities Commission of Vietnam is a testament to the excellent cooperative relationship. It will effectively and practically promote further cooperation between the two securities regulatory agencies in particular and between the two countries in general.”
"The minutes contribute to the implementation of the major directions in the Joint Statement on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia," the Chairman of the State Securities Commission affirmed.
Ms. Phuong hopes that the signing of this cooperation agreement will facilitate support for regulatory agencies and organizations operating the Vietnamese stock market. At the same time, it will create favorable conditions for Australian businesses and investors to conduct business and invest effectively and prosperously in Vietnam.
