On November 28, the Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods of An Giang Province (Steering Committee 389/AG) organized the centralized destruction of over 383,000 packs of smuggled imported cigarettes in the second phase of 2025.

Over 383,000 packs of cigarettes were destroyed in this operation thanks to seizures by the Provincial Market Management Department, the Customs Department of Region XX, the Provincial Police, the Provincial Border Guard Command, and the People's Committee of Tan Chau Ward from individuals involved in the buying, selling, and transporting of smuggled imported cigarettes.
The centralized destruction of smuggled cigarettes is carried out according to Plan 178/KH-UBND, dated November 7, 2025, of the People's Committee of An Giang province, ensuring the correct procedures for handling confiscated goods in administrative violations, deterring violations, improving the effectiveness of smuggling prevention and control, and contributing to protecting consumer rights and a healthy business environment.
