6 localities exempt tuition fees for the 2024 school year

Recently, the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province issued a resolution regulating tuition fees for public educational institutions from the 2024-2025 school year, effective from August 1. Accordingly, the province will reduce tuition fees for students at all levels by 50% compared to last year. Tuition fees are collected based on the actual number of months of study, but not exceeding 9 months/school year.

Specifically, urban areas include wards in Vinh Yen city and Phuc Yen city, tuition fees for all levels range from 80,000 - 180,000 VND/student/month.

Rural areas include communes and towns that are not mountainous ethnic minority areas, tuition fees for all levels range from 60,000 - 100,000 VND/student/month.

In ethnic minority and mountainous areas, tuition fees for all levels range from 30,000 - 60,000 VND/student/month.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also passed a resolution regulating tuition fees for public preschool and general education from the 2024-2025 school year and subsequent school years in the city.

Compared to last year, the new tuition fee is reduced by about 100,000 - 240,000 VND/month depending on the level of study, this level is equal to the collection level of the 2021 - 2022 school year.

Group 1: Students studying at schools in Thu Duc City and districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan.

Group 2: students studying at schools in Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be and Can Gio districts.

5-year-old preschool children are exempted from tuition fees from the 2024-2025 school year. Secondary school students are exempted from tuition fees from the 2025-2026 school year. With online learning, tuition fees are 50% of the tuition fees issued by public educational institutions.

The People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province also passed a resolution to support tuition fees for children in nurseries, kindergartens, public and non-public high schools, and students studying in continuing education programs.

Specifically, from the 2024-2025 school year, 3- and 4-year-old nursery and kindergarten children and high school students will be supported with 100% of public tuition fees according to regulations of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for each level of education.

The duration of tuition support is based on the actual number of months of study at schools (not exceeding 9 months/school year). Regarding the form of support, the provincial budget will directly provide to public educational institutions and continuing education centers to implement this support policy.

As for non-public educational institutions, the budget is provided directly to parents or guardians of nursery school children, 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool children, and high school students.

Long An province also announced tuition fees from the 2024-2025 school year for public preschool and general education institutions and continuing education institutions that have not yet covered their regular expenses.

Accordingly, next school year, the province will reduce 50% of tuition fees for preschool children under 5 years old studying at public preschools and exempt 100% of tuition fees for secondary school students at public schools in the province.

From the 2025-2026 school year onwards, Long An province will exempt 100% of tuition fees for preschool children under 5 years old studying at public preschools in the province.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Da Nang continues to decide to exempt tuition fees for students from preschool to high school.

Specifically, Da Nang will support 100% of tuition fees for public preschool and general education for 9 months of the 2024-2025 school year. At the same time, it will support 100% of tuition fees for students studying high school cultural knowledge and general education programs in public and private vocational education institutions (up to 9 months/school year). The total estimated cost is more than 108.1 billion VND.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Hai Phong City will continue to apply the policy of exempting all tuition fees for students at all levels from preschool, primary, secondary, high school... in the area. Tuition exemption money is provided from the local budget. Each student is exempted from 9 months of tuition fees/school year. Last year, the locality also spent more than 400 billion VND from the budget to exempt 100% of tuition fees for students at all levels.
