“Today’s Vietnam is a shining example of national self-reliance. The journey from war to peace, from devastation to prosperity, is a powerful testament to the power of humanism and national unity.”

That is the perspective of analyst Chheang Vannarith - Deputy Secretary General, Head of the Advisory Group of the Cambodian National Assembly - in an article posted on April 29 on the homepage of the Cambodian national news agency (AKP).

According to a VNA reporter in Phnom Penh, in an article titled “Celebrating Vietnam’s 50th Anniversary of National Reunification: A Story of National Self-Reliance,” analyst Chheang Vannarith emphasized that Cambodia is a good neighbor, a close friend and brother of Vietnam.

The Cambodian people are proud to stand side by side with the Vietnamese people to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day. This historic milestone not only marks the moment of liberation and reunification of Vietnam, but also symbolizes the end of imperialism in the Mekong region.

The Cambodian analyst said the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day reflects the determination and sacrifice of the people of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, who fought together to gain complete independence, national sovereignty and human dignity.

Emphasizing that the story of Vietnam's national unification is not only the story of the Vietnamese people but also the common story of humanity, the Head of the Advisory Group of the Cambodian National Assembly stated: "This common history teaches us a profound lesson: Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam must unite in all circumstances. In all circumstances, whether difficult or favorable, in peacetime or wartime, unity is always the greatest source of strength. Only through mutual support and solidarity can countries protect the core interests of the nation: peace, stability, sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence."

According to expert Chheang Vannarith, the story of Vietnam's national reunification is a testament to the truth that nothing is more precious than independence and freedom; at the same time, it is a lesson that true sovereignty is not something that is given but must be fought for, won and protected through sacrifice, resilience and solidarity.

He stated: “Today’s Vietnam is a shining example of national self-reliance. The journey from war to peace, from devastation to prosperity, is a powerful testament to the power of humanism and the power of great national unity.”

The Cambodian analyst cited evidence that over the past five decades, especially after the Doi Moi reforms in 1986, Vietnam’s state management and economic reforms have yielded positive and concrete results. Since then, Vietnam’s development story has become an inspiring lesson for other developing countries.

From the above perspective, the author of the article believes that the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's national reunification not only honor Vietnam's achievements but also honor the struggles, sacrifices and common aspirations of the people of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Through this, the countries reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate to protect peace, protect sovereignty, strengthen unity and promote a fair and equal international order based on international law and mutual respect.

In that spirit, the article concludes by emphasizing: “Let this anniversary remind us all that unity is our greatest asset, self-reliance is our greatest strength, independence and freedom are our greatest treasures. In the face of an uncertain future, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam must continue to stand together: united in purpose, strong in spirit and steadfast in our commitment to building a better, freer and more peaceful world.”./.
