Earlier, at around 1:30 a.m. the same day, people were sleeping when they heard an explosion at the plastic goods kiosk of Ms. BTB (55 years old, residing in Chau Phu district).
Seeing the fire spreading quickly and being difficult to control, people quickly shouted and reported it to the authorities.
At about 3 o'clock, the fire was under control.
At the scene after the fire was extinguished, many items were completely burned. Only the iron frames remained of 15 stalls. The burnt stalls sold handbags, hats, shoes, plastic items, etc., all of which are flammable materials.
Ms. N. (45 years old, living in Chau Phu district, owner of a burnt kiosk) said: "I am still shocked by the incident. The fire broke out in the middle of the night, causing many people who were sleeping to panic and not have time to react. I was planning to import goods to sell during Tet, but now that all the goods are burned, I really don't know what to do."
