One of the most important aspects of the training sessions is the physical fitness test for the referees. On the first day of the referee training session before the 2024-2025 season, the referees underwent a physical fitness test, and the results showed that 100% of the referees and assistant referees met the requirements.

Passing the physical fitness test is a prerequisite for referees and assistant referees to be allowed to officiate matches in the national professional football league system. In this training session, 50 referees and assistant referees (16 national league referees, 15 national league assistant referees, 7 national first division referees, and 12 national first division assistant referees) had to pass physical fitness tests according to FIFA standards, consisting of two parts: speed and endurance.
After completing the physical fitness test, the referees and assistant referees from the North will participate in a training course lasting until August 18th, covering important topics such as changes and additions to the Laws of Football; and focusing on analyzing issues related to match supervision and management.
In addition, attention is being paid to issues related to the operation of VAR and match management when VAR is in use, with preparations aimed at applying VAR to all matches in the national league.

The pre-season training is part of the operational plan of VPF Company and the VFF Referee Committee, aiming to prepare a qualified force of referees and assistant referees to meet the requirements for developing and officiating national professional football leagues in the 2024-2025 season.
Following the conclusion of the training course in the North, the training course in the South took place from August 25th to August 30th at Thien Hong Hotel and Thong Nhat Stadium.
