On August 14, speaking with reporters of Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Ha Long City, said: From now until the September 2 holiday, the city will organize the Sailboat, Parachute, and Jet Ski Festival "Overcoming the Waves of Ha Long - 2024" and the Hot Air Balloon Festival "Heritage City - Colors of Ha Long" in 2024. These are events within the "Ha Long - Festival City" project to increase tourist attraction and promote the image of the Heritage City, culture, and people of Ha Long to domestic and international friends. At the same time, these are also activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ha Long Bay being recognized as a World Natural Heritage (1994-2024).

In particular, the Sailboat, Parasailing, and Jet Ski Festival "Overcoming Ha Long Waves - 2024" will take place on August 24, in the water area opposite Vincom and Ha Long Flower Park (Bach Dang ward).

The festival has the participation of many sailing clubs, parasailing, jet skiing, and jet-skiing from inside and outside the province, participating in the parade, promising to bring eye-catching and interesting performances.

The 2024 "Heritage City - Colors of Ha Long" Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place from September 1-2 at 30/10 Square (Hong Ha Ward) and Ocean Park Beach (Bai Chay Ward). The festival includes main activities: Hot air balloon flying; hot air balloon sightseeing; hot air balloon flower lantern night; hot air balloons decorating the ground.

Specifically, at 7am on September 1st, Ha Long City will open the festival at October 30th Square. From 7am to 9am and after 4:30pm every day, hot air balloon flights will be held at October 30th Square and Ocean Park Beach.

For sightseeing activities inside the hot air balloon, it will take place from 7:30 am to 9:30 am and from 3:30 pm every day; Hot air balloon lantern night will be held from 7:30 pm on September 2; Hot air balloon decoration on the ground will take place throughout both days at October 30 Square.

Along with the Hot Air Balloon Festival, there will be a supplementary activity of paragliding. The flight route from Bai Chay will fly over Cua Luc Bay to October 30 Square and vice versa.

Both of the above festivals are attractive tourism products, bringing unique and new experiences and promising to attract a large number of people and tourists to participate. Thereby contributing to realizing the goal of attracting 19 million tourists in 2024 of Quang Ninh province.
