Contribute to building Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-governed city

Over the past years, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the effective organization, management and administration of authorities at all levels, together with the spirit of solidarity and consensus of the people, Thua Thien Hue province has made strong development steps, the economy has maintained a high growth rate; cultural life is increasingly rich; national defense and security have been maintained; the great national unity bloc has been consolidated and expanded; people of all walks of life have enthusiastically and actively participated in emulation movements and campaigns organized by the Party, State, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.

Along with the general development, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province also made positive contributions. Accordingly, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations in the province regularly innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots and residential areas, focusing on promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, the people's mastery, actively participating in Party building, building a clean and strong government, promoting the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations, organizing monitoring and social criticism activities, etc., thereby contributing to stabilizing the ideological situation among the people, maintaining social order and safety in the province.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Tien - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thua Thien Hue province said that the highlight of the work of the Front in the past term of the Front at all levels in the province is the focus on innovating the content and methods of operation. In addition to continuing to implement the motto of focusing on the grassroots, taking the grassroots as the main area of ​​operation, the Front at all levels has gradually organized activities in the spirit of specific work, practical products and coordinated the organization of activities according to the method of clear assignment and specific responsibilities.

Therefore, in recent years, the role and position of the Front have been more clearly demonstrated; movements and campaigns have mobilized a large number of people to participate, through the good organization of practical activities such as: "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe" roads, "Green Sunday" movements, "Yellow Apricot in front of the alley", "Pink color of the Ancient Capital"..., programs to help poor households, social monitoring and criticism activities, organizing the National Great Unity Day in residential areas, relief, humanitarian and charitable activities...

According to Mr. Nguyen Nam Tien, through its activities, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Thua Thien Hue has actively contributed to the socio-economic development of the province. In recent years, the province has always maintained a growth rate of more than 7.3%; the average income per capita has reached more than 2,700 USD. Up to now, basically village roads and alleys in the whole province have been concreted, more than 99% of households have access to clean water, people's lives have improved, and the appearance of the province is increasingly improving.

The new rural construction movement has been actively implemented by the people. 73/94 communes have been recognized by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province as meeting the new rural standards, including 7 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards; 2 district-level units have met the standards/completed the task of building new rural areas (Quang Dien district and Huong Thuy town). It is expected that by the end of 2024, there will be 3 more district-level units meeting the new rural standards; 13 wards and towns will meet the civilized urban standards.

The mobilization work to build the Fund “For the Poor” associated with the movements “The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind”, “Clans, villages, and hamlets without poor households” continues to be effectively implemented; in the past 5 years, more than 50,681 billion VND has been mobilized, supporting the construction and repair of 1,484 Great Solidarity houses with an amount of over 35.5 billion VND, supporting 13,797 poor households to borrow capital to develop production and other supports contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the province to 2.27% (at the beginning of the term it was 6.3%).

The work of receiving and distributing relief money and goods is regularly carried out by the Fatherland Front at all levels, with the mobilized amount of more than 101,243 billion VND, promptly visiting and supporting the victims, ensuring publicity, democracy, transparency and the right subjects, contributing to helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives...

In the coming time, the Front at all levels in the province will focus on improving the capacity of organizing the activities of the Front's staff so that they can operate comprehensively on all fronts... Building a strong Front at all levels, constantly innovating the content and methods of operation on the basis of promoting the great national unity bloc, the Front at all levels in the province will successfully complete its tasks in the new term 2024 - 2029, contributing to building Thua Thien Hue province into a centrally-run city according to Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
