Sharing about the implementation of domestic cards on Apple Pay, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh, General Director of NAPAS said: "By introducing Apple Pay to NAPAS domestic cardholders, we will create a breakthrough to promote digital transactions, bring convenience, and increase the private and secure payment experience for users."

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh, looking back at the progress of card payments in Vietnam in recent years, we can see the strong and rapid development of digital card payment methods on mobile devices. In particular, with convenient, safe and easy-to-use payment features, payment cards have been applied in payment solutions for many areas of modern society such as transportation, retail, and food and beverage.

“The implementation of Apple Pay on NAPAS cards contributes to the development of a modern card payment ecosystem as well as international integration, meeting the payment needs of consumers in Vietnam,” affirmed a representative of NAPAS.

Apple Pay is an easy, secure and private way to pay directly in stores, on applications (apps) and online. NAPAS has cooperated with banks to deploy Apple Pay service for domestic NAPAS cards including Vietcombank, OCB. Along with the cooperation with banks, NAPAS has cooperated with payment service providers including OnePay, VNPay, Zalo Pay and Ngan Luong to expand Apple Pay payment acceptance for domestic NAPAS cards.

To pay in-store, customers simply double-press the side button, authenticate, and place their iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment terminal to make a contactless payment. Customers don’t need to enter a PIN when making in-store purchases with Apple Pay. Every Apple Pay transaction is secure, authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device’s passcode, along with a dynamic one-time security code.

Today, Apple Pay offers a faster, safer and more convenient way to pay for things, whether they are buying coffee at Highlands Coffee, buying groceries at Annam Gourmet or booking a ride-hailing service from BE - Apple Pay is accepted anywhere contactless payments are accepted.

Customers can use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, Mac to make quick and convenient purchases on applications, on websites, without having to create an account or re-enter contact information, card information, shipping information or invoices. Customers do not need to wait for a one-time password (OTP), but still experience secure payments.

Security and privacy are core values ​​of Apple Pay. When customers use a domestic credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card number is not stored on the device or on Apple servers.

Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element — an industry-standard, certified chip designed to securely store payment information on the device.

Apple Pay is easy to set up. On iPhone, customers simply open Wallet on the app, tap the “+” button, and follow the next steps to add a NAPAS domestic card. Once customers add the card on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, they can start using Apple Pay on the device immediately. Users will continue to receive many gifts and incentives brought by NAPAS cards.
