Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that remembering the merits of the Hung Kings means remembering the roots, the profound cultural symbol, affirming the sacred value of the history of building and defending the country for thousands of years of our people.

"That spirit of solidarity, ardent patriotism, determination to fight against foreign invaders, protect independence, sovereignty, unity and build the country, is an extremely precious tradition of our people. The Vietnamese spirit has created the great strength of our nation, defeating all invaders. That tradition has been preserved, continued, and strongly and indomitably aroused," Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc affirmed.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, entering a new phase, Ho Chi Minh City continues to promote the tradition of a Heroic City, unite, make comprehensive efforts, overcome all challenges, overcome all difficulties, strive to become a modern service and industrial city, a locomotive of the digital economy and digital society, with a prominent position in the Southeast Asian region by 2030.

By 2045, Ho Chi Minh City will develop on par with major cities in the world, becoming an economic, financial and service center of Asia; an attractive global destination, with distinctive economic and cultural development, and people with a high quality of life. The city identifies the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as a mandatory choice, the "only way to develop the country" as directed by General Secretary To Lam.

"Today, learning from our ancestors, following the example of our ancestors, forever remembering our ancestors, continuing the national tradition and revolutionary tradition, we see more clearly the responsibility of the entire City Party Committee and our party members today in the historical process of the nation," Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc added.

After the opening ceremony, the city leaders and people joined the procession to welcome the ceremony. At the Hung Kings Memorial Temple, the city leaders offered incense and flowers to commemorate the Hung Kings. The ceremony was held by the organizing committee according to the traditional rituals of the nation.

City leaders also offered incense and flowers at the Temple of Duc Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh located in the National Historical - Cultural Park (Thu Duc city).

Activities commemorating the Hung Kings took place enthusiastically at the Hung Kings Memorial Temple and the Temple of Lord Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh located in the National Historical - Cultural Park (Thu Duc city).

Previously, the Management Board of the National Historical and Cultural Park in coordination with the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City also organized the 7th Banh Chung wrapping and cooking contest in 2025 to find delicious cakes to offer to the Hung Kings on the occasion of the Hung Kings' death anniversary.

The Management Board of the National Historical and Cultural Park also coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union to organize the traditional camp "Proud of the Dragon and Fairy Race for the 16th time in 2025" on April 7 and 8 at the campsite, Hung Kings Memorial Temple. The Management Board of the National Historical and Cultural Park also coordinated with Fahasa Company, Thu Duc City to display and sell cultural, social, historical books... to serve the people on April 6 and 7.
