Specifically, Oppo's smartphone output increased sharply to 27%. Meanwhile, Samsung ranked second with 21% market share. The next positions belonged to Xiaomi (20% market share), Apple (16% market share) and Vivo (6% market share).
"The recovery of the smartphone market in Southeast Asia is being driven by stable macroeconomic conditions and increasingly open consumer sentiment.
Besides the popular A60 product line, Oppo has also achieved certain successes in increasing its presence in the mid-range and high-end smartphone segment with the Reno series," said Le Xuan Chiew, an analyst at Canalys.
The mobile market in Vietnam is expected to continue to become more vibrant in the last months of the year. In particular, the 2G network will officially stop operating in Vietnam from mid-September. This will promote a wave of conversion from 2G devices to 4G phones.
According to the dealers, the low-cost smartphone segment (under 2 million VND) will attract a lot of attention from users who want to switch to smartphones. Meanwhile, another group will still use basic phones (feature phones) that support 4G connection.

"We expect sales of 4G feature phones and low-cost smartphones to increase by 120% in August. By September, the growth rate could increase sharply to 450% when the 2G shutdown event takes place," said Ms. Hoang Minh Tam, communications representative of Hoang Ha Mobile system.
In addition, the iPhone 16 generation is expected to be introduced by Apple in mid-September. This is considered the main product line that helps dealers grow strongly in the final period of the year, while contributing greatly to the sales of the systems.
