On August 13, the People's Committee of Nam Dinh City held a conference to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period of Nam Dinh province.

Accordingly, the entire natural area of ​​74.49 square kilometers and population of 84,045 people of My Loc district will be merged into Nam Dinh city; at the same time, a number of wards and communes will be arranged. Nam Dinh city will also downgrade its urban status from type I to type II.

After the merger, Nam Dinh city has a natural area of ​​120.90km2 and a population of 364,181 people; adjacent to Nam Truc and Vu Ban districts; Ha Nam province and Thai Binh province.

After the arrangement, Nam Dinh city has 21 commune-level administrative units, including 14 wards: Cua Bac, Cua Nam, Hung Loc, Loc Ha, Loc Hoa, Loc Vuong, Nam Phong, Nam Van, Nang Tinh, My Xa, Quang Trung, Tran Hung Dao, Truong Thi, Vi Xuyen and 7 communes: My Ha, My Loc, My Phuc, My Tan, My Thang, My Thuan, My Trung.

In addition, Nam Dinh province also dissolved the People's Court of My Loc district to merge into the People's Court of Nam Dinh city; dissolved the People's Procuracy of My Loc district to merge into the People's Procuracy of Nam Dinh city. The People's Court and the People's Procuracy of Nam Dinh city are responsible for inheriting the duties and powers of the People's Court and the People's Procuracy of My Loc district according to the provisions of law.

Nam Dinh City and My Loc District are both determined to seriously, promptly and effectively implement the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee; ensuring that the newly formed administrative units after the rearrangement come into operation from September 1, according to regulations.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Dinh Nghi emphasized that this is the first unit of the province to announce the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, which determined that when merging Nam Dinh city, it will create new momentum and development space on the basis of closely following and complying with approved plans.

The Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee requested the Standing Committee of Nam Dinh City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of My Loc District Party Committee to continue to do a good job in organizing and staffing in the direction that the staff in each locality will be arranged by the Standing Committee at that level.

In addition, continue to motivate and do a good job of ideological work for redundant cadres due to reorganization and merger. Focus on doing a good job of managing finances, assets, headquarters and related records and documents, and avoid any loss. Focus on doing a good job of ensuring security and order and resolving any problems that may arise during the reorganization and merger process. From September 1, the Party and government apparatus must come into operation to carry out political tasks and meet the needs of the people.
