Thai Binh: Temporarily suspends Director of Department of Education and Training for 15 days

Specifically, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province has decided to temporarily suspend the Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Viet Hien from work from July 31 to serve the inspection of the organization of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year in the province. The temporary suspension period is 15 working days.

According to the People's Committee of Thai Binh province, during the inspection, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien is responsible for providing full information and related documents as requested by the Head of the Inspection Team and competent authorities, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

On the same day, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province issued a decision assigning the responsibility of managing the activities of the Department of Education and Training to Mr. Pham Van Nghiem, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Mr. Nghiem will manage the Department of Education and Training while Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien is temporarily suspended from work to serve the inspection of the organization of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year in Thai Binh.

Previously, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province received a complaint related to irregularities in the exam scores of the 10th grade high school entrance exam in Thai Binh province. Specifically, according to the reflection of a number of parents and students, the scores of many candidates participating in the 10th grade high school entrance exam in the 2024-2025 school year had many irregularities. In particular, there were candidates who were excellent students at the provincial and city levels, but the scores they received were inexplicably low. Many students "wrongly passed" and "wrongly failed" when they received exam scores that were not as expected.

On July 30, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province directed the Thai Binh Provincial Police to inspect the organization of the 10th grade entrance exam.
