Launching Humanitarian Month 2025 with the goal of raising at least 6.5 billion VND

(LĐ online) - On the morning of April 11, in Bao Lam district, the Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society held a ceremony to launch the Humanitarian Month 2025, with the theme Humanitarian Journey - Spreading love, towards the anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement on May 8.

Attending the launching ceremony were comrade Ton Thien Dong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society; leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bao Lam district; representatives of the Red Cross Societies of districts and cities in the province, philanthropists and sponsors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, emphasized: Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love is the message in this year's Humanitarian Month and is a bridge connecting philanthropists to share and support the disadvantaged in society. Thereby, clearly demonstrating the tradition of "The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" of our nation and clearly demonstrating the role of an active and responsible member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

In order for the Humanitarian Month to achieve high results, on behalf of the Provincial Red Cross Executive Committee, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh called on all cadres, members, volunteers, Red Cross youth, businesses, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the province to actively participate in the Humanitarian Month 2025 launched by the Provincial Red Cross.

Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society will be a bridge between organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to help the poor and people in difficult circumstances to improve their lives.

Humanitarian Month 2025 will be implemented from March 1 to May 31; in which, the peak period is from May 8 to May 19 with many activities to promote propaganda work, attracting a large number of organizations and individuals at home and abroad to participate in humanitarian activities to help people in difficult circumstances.

Activities taking place during the Humanitarian Month focus on remote areas, ethnic minority areas such as: Organizing gift giving, medical examination, free medicine for the poor, voluntary blood donation, organ donation registration, supporting livelihood models, Red Cross houses, nutrition programs for children; supporting the construction of livelihood models such as clean water, lighting up rural roads, supporting the construction of bridges and roads for people.

In addition, all levels of the association continue to actively respond to the campaign "Million steps of kindness - Continuing the golden history".

In Humanitarian Month 2025, Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society strives to achieve the mobilization target at least 6.5 billion VND (including cash and goods) to support the poor, people in especially difficult circumstances, poor children, people with disabilities, and vulnerable people in the area.

At the launching ceremony, representatives of sponsors and benefactors presented livelihood models to 3 poor and near-poor households in Bao Lam district; awarded 20 scholarships to disadvantaged and excellent students in Bao Lam district; and awarded 1 Red Cross house to a disadvantaged family in Bao Lam district, with a total value of more than 70 million VND.

Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society also presented a symbolic board of registration for humanitarian charity work during Humanitarian Month to the Red Cross Societies of districts, cities and sponsors in the province, with a total budget of about 7 billion VND.

On this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross Society also awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2025 Spring Charity Tet Movement.
