The ceremony was attended by leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, veteran revolutionaries, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor; leaders of central and local ministries, departments and branches; veterans who participated in the Great Spring Victory of 1975, and thousands of guests representing people from all walks of life nationwide.

Attending the ceremony were about 20 international delegations, including 3 high-ranking delegations, 4 delegations at ministerial level or higher, more than 15 political parties from different continents; representatives of more than 20 localities twinned with Ho Chi Minh City and many foreign individuals who contributed to the anti-war movement and the resistance against the war of aggression against Vietnam.
The program of the ceremony includes a commemorative ceremony and a parade with the participation of about 13,000 people. Before the official celebration takes place, there will be a 30-minute art program, including a gun dance by the army, a drum performance by the police, and a number of art performances by Ho Chi Minh City.

General Secretary To Lam will deliver a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification; followed by speeches by representatives of war veterans and representatives of the young generation of Vietnam.
The parade program, chaired by the Ministry of National Defense, includes a performance by helicopters and fighter jets; a parade program of 4 Honorary Units, 36 parade units of the Army and Police, 12 parade units and parade units of the armies of China, Laos and Cambodia. In particular, there will be 350 delegates who are Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor, and typical historical witnesses participating in the parade on double-decker buses.
The program was broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and local radio and television stations. Ho Chi Minh City installed 20 large LED screens on central streets, serving residents and tourists, broadcasting live the celebration activities.
There were more than 700 reporters from 106 domestic press agencies and 169 foreign reporters from 58 foreign press agencies participating in the ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
On this occasion, in order to recognize the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland, the Party and State decided to confer the title of "Hero of Labor" on the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City.
From early morning, tens of thousands of people and tourists gathered on the streets around the stage to wait for the celebration, parade, and march in joy and excitement.
