99 delegates from 11 countries, 7 representatives of Vietnamese Student Associations in other countries and 26 delegates of Vietnamese students studying in provinces and cities across the country participated in the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City World Student Festival.
Students take the lead in volunteering for the community
Ms. Tran Thu Ha - Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City - shared that the delegates attending the festival have been affirming their pioneering role in the sustainable development of society.
Students take the lead in community volunteer activities with creative thinking, wide connectivity, access to and application of new knowledge and technology, enthusiasm and passion, not afraid of challenges, have a voice and influence.
"We hope that after the festival, you will continue to learn, create, and improve yourself every day.
Always keep your noble aspirations, use your knowledge, skills and creativity to come up with practical solutions for the community, actively participate in projects, volunteer activities, and research programs serving the community," said Ms. Ha.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that young people and students have different missions, but in general, they all want to leave good values for the community.
"In any country or territory, young people are always given attention and play an important role. You are pioneering in creating open paths towards the goal of sustainable development," Ms. Thuy said.

The festival and forum have a mission for young people and students to share ideas, initiatives, academic knowledge, experiences and research. Connecting with each other so that "I" becomes "we" and "we" together will create more positive changes.

Opportunity to experience and learn
Delegate Ly Tuan Anh (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University) said that the festival combined with the International Student Science Forum has more scientific information than other programs he has attended.
In addition to expertise, Tuan Anh hopes to learn new working methods from international students. Explaining, he said that each delegate not only exchanges but also focuses on knowledge and academic skills.
Delegate Duc Huy (Foreign Trade University, Ho Chi Minh City campus II), a young person working on the environment and participating in many projects, felt that the initiatives shared within the framework of the festival transmitted positive energy and inspiration, helping him learn about commitments to environmental protection.

Coming to Vietnam for the first time, speaker Krystal Inahid (Philippines) enjoyed listening to the sharing of initiatives on the United Nations' sustainable development goals.
"The festival provides significant knowledge for students and all those invited to attend this event. From there, it can be innovated and applied in daily life, especially for students like us.
These initiatives also help countries like Vietnam and in the ASEAN region to develop solutions and measures to respond to climate-related issues," Krystal said.

Many suggestions from young people
Bringing to the scientific forum a research article on the active participation of Vietnamese students in volunteer activities in the Russian Federation, Ms. Dang Hai Loan - head of the Vietnam - Russia Volunteer Club (under the Vietnamese Students Association in the Russian Federation) - said that Vietnamese students are eager to contribute to building the community and society.
"I want to show international friends the image of Vietnamese people with youthful energy and a spirit of readiness for volunteer activities, whether locally or internationally," Loan shared.
Discussing digital transformation and establishing student networks through digital platforms, delegates emphasized that this is an inevitable trend. Therefore, students need to take advantage of new technology to enhance connectivity, cooperation and knowledge sharing.
Meanwhile, when it comes to raising global citizenship awareness among youth and students, some opinions say there are challenges and limitations such as cultural diversity, the educational gap between rural and urban areas, and a lack of opportunities for young people to speak up and participate in solving the country's problems.
