The transfer period between the V-League season and the 2024-2025 First Division takes place from January 20, 2025 to March 12, 2025.
This is an important period for teams to strengthen their squads to realize their ambitions of winning the championship or competing for relegation. However, when the transfer market closed, there were no notable contracts, including domestic and foreign players.
3 more Vietnamese players
Defending champion Nam Dinh has removed conductor Hendrio to prioritize the registration of striker Brenner Marlos and midfielder Romulo. The team leading the V-League 2024-2025 also added two new names, former national player Lam Ti Phong (Thanh Hoa) and Vietnamese-American defender Kevin Pham Ba (France).
Kevin Pham Ba grew up at the Sochaux training center, recently playing for Marignane GCB Club in the French 4th Division before deciding to return to Vietnam. This 1.81m tall center-back was valued at 200,000 euros by the transfer website Transfermarkt at the end of 2022. This figure is much lower than the current 500,000 euros of Vietnamese-French defender Jason Quang Vinh of the Hanoi Police Club.

Championship candidate Hanoi Police Club also registered 3 brand new names, but nothing outstanding.
That is striker Thaileon Santos (Brazil), whose value has not been evaluated by Transfermarkt. Striker Nguyen Van Vinh comes from the first-class club Phu Dong Ninh Binh. And goalkeeper Ha Manh Truong (only 1.73m tall) was promoted from the U19 team.
Thanh Hoa Club registered central defender Dinh Tien Thanh, midfielder Nguyen Trong Hung and Vietnamese-Lao player Damoth Thongkhamsavath. Of these, only Damoth is new and is not highly rated.
The only new player that Hai Phong FC added was midfielder Mark Huynh, a Vietnamese-American player who had an unsuccessful trial with B.Binh Duong FC earlier this season. The 23-year-old player used to play in the Republic of Ireland for Athlone Town FC.
"He is still very young. This year is the best time for him to learn about V-League, but to develop his potential, it will probably be next season," Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem shared.
Struggling to avoid relegation, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club also registered new striker Paulo Pinto from Hai Phong Club to replace striker Alisson who has scored 4 goals since the beginning of the season, along with defender Nguyen Ngoc Toan from first division club Hue.
From being the reigning runner-up, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club is currently second to last in V-League 2024-2025 with 13 points after 16 matches, 4 points more than the bottom team SHB Da Nang.
In the last 8 matches, the martial arts team only earned 2 points, forcing coach Bui Doan Quang Huy to resign. However, Mr. Huy was not agreed and persuaded to stay by the players and the club's leadership.
Hoang Anh Gia Lai does not add foreign strikers
Contrary to speculation that they will add new foreign striker Thaileon Santos to replace unimpressive striker Washington Brandao, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club has kept the same squad for the upcoming fierce relegation battle.
The mountain town team is currently ranked 11th out of 14 teams with 18 points, but is also 5 points behind the team in the relegation play-off position, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh.
