Attending the event were all officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania, the Executive Board of Vietnamese associations in Romania and more than 200 members of the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Romania.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh emphasized that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 was the greatest achievement in the cause of national liberation and defense led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, opening a new era for the nation - the era of independence, unification and socialism.

Reviewing the country's great achievements on the path of innovation, industrialization, modernization and international integration over the past 50 years, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh emphasized that commemorating this important event is also an opportunity to express Vietnam's goodwill for peace, friendship and cooperation, the desire to completely close the wounds of division of the past, promote the spirit of great solidarity, heroic spirit, and firm belief in the new era, the era of national growth.

Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Romania, Mr. Pham Duy Hung, emotionally affirmed that, despite being far away from home, memories of the heroic days of struggle of the nation are always alive, a great source of encouragement reminding generations of children and grandchildren to appreciate the sacrifices of their fathers and grandfathers and be proud of the glorious history of the Vietnamese people.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation for the efforts to stabilize life, integrate into the local community, always looking towards the homeland and the country, especially through the role of Vietnamese associations - which have truly been a reliable and effective support for the Embassy in implementing community work in the area - Ambassador Do Duc Thanh hopes that the Vietnamese community in Romania will continue to promote the spirit of great solidarity, closely coordinate, create unity, promote spread and reach out in the European region.

On this occasion, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh presented Certificates of Merit to 20 outstanding individuals who have made many positive contributions to activities for the benefit of the community, preserving national cultural identity and contributing to promoting the traditional multifaceted friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Romania.

The program also featured special performances with dances and choruses of many revolutionary songs bearing historical imprints, such as “The Party gave us spring”, “The country is full of joy”… expressing love for the homeland, exciting sports exchange activities, volleyball, table tennis, badminton…, contributing to promoting cohesion within the community as well as between the community and the Embassy.
