Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui Quang Huy - First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union said: The 24th Vietnam - China Youth Friendship Meeting took place in the context of the two countries' relations developing very well. The Parties and People of the two countries continue to have many activities to deepen and further enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a "Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance" with the connotation of "6 more".
This year, the two sides announced the launch of the Vietnam-China Year of Humanitarian Exchange 2025, emphasizing the need to strengthen people-to-people exchange activities and consolidate a more solid social foundation for bilateral relations.
Accordingly, the young generation has always received special attention and expectations from the leaders of the two Parties and countries as a force with the ambition to follow in the footsteps of previous generations, inherit the tradition of friendship, and bring strong vitality and a bright future to the Vietnam-China relationship.
Realizing this, over the years, the Youth Unions of the two countries have promoted the strong development of Vietnam-China youth cooperation and achieved many results. Training programs, youth exchanges, and youth cooperation forums have created opportunities for thousands of young people from both countries to better understand each other's culture, traditions, and customs.
This not only helps strengthen friendship, but also contributes to developing personal relationships and friendships between the young generations of the two countries, opening up opportunities for cooperation in study, research, work, production and business. Cooperation between the youth of the two countries also helps raise awareness and the ability to solve global issues, such as climate change, environmental protection, and promote peace and stability in the region.
More specifically, the 2025 Vietnam - China Youth Friendship Meeting is held on the occasion of the visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam. This is a historic opportunity for the youth of the two countries to meet, discuss the situation of the younger generation, and share experiences in the work of the Youth Union and youth movements.
Mr. Bui Quang Huy expressed: “The activities of the Youth Unions of the two countries have been, are and will continue to be a bridge of friendship connecting the youth and people of Vietnam and China, bringing practical benefits and efficiency to the youth of the two countries, constantly fostering the traditional friendship between the youth and people of the two countries; together contributing to promoting the healthy and stable development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China”.
“Vietnamese - Chinese Youth: Firm in Ideals”
Speaking at the program, Mr. A Dong - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union of China emphasized: The world is changing, the era is changing, history is also opening unprecedented pages. The world is entering a period of profound transformation, where will the future of the world go? What should we - the young people - do? Young people should not only be the ones to ask questions, but also the ones to answer those questions, shouldering national responsibilities. Chinese and Vietnamese youth should be people with noble ideals, maintaining faith, strengthening solidarity, holding hands together, portraying the portrait of youth under the bright flag of ideals, recording the heroic history of the times. We need to be the successors of the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam, so that the flame of friendship continues to burn brightly in the hearts of the youth of the two countries. China and Vietnam are both socialist countries led by the Communist Party, sharing the same ideals and goals, and the same aspirations for development and modernization.
