Specifically, Brent oil lost more than 1 USD, closing at 65.86 USD/barrel, while US WTI oil decreased nearly 1 USD, to 62.05 USD/barrel. Previously, although Brent price increased slightly, the whole week still recorded a decrease of more than 1%.

In the morning session of April 29, the market had mixed developments. As of 7:45 a.m. (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil increased slightly to 64.66 USD/barrel, while WTI crude oil decreased slightly to 61.93 USD/barrel. On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the price of oil for September delivery also decreased by 3.15% to 57,040 JPY/barrel.

Experts say the market is currently dominated by concerns about the trade war between the US and China. Analyst John Evans of PVM said these uncertainties are overshadowing other factors such as the US-Iran nuclear talks or OPEC+ internal affairs.

Gary Cunningham from Tradition Energy said that if the negotiations between the US and China do not progress, oil demand from China will decrease. Meanwhile, the latest statement from US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent shows that no negotiations are taking place, contrary to President Trump's previous statement, further confusing the market.

Phil Flynn, an expert at Price Futures Group, said the market is facing many big questions such as: "Will the US attack Iran? Will China continue to buy crude oil?"

In addition, OPEC+ is expected to discuss a second consecutive production increase at its meeting on May 5. Market sentiment is currently quite pessimistic due to concerns that OPEC+ is no longer in agreement, according to analyst Aldo Spanjer of BNP Paribas. However, the bank still forecasts Brent crude oil prices to fluctuate around $60/barrel in the second quarter.

In a related development, Iran's foreign minister expressed caution about the prospects of success in nuclear talks between Iran and the US, which are taking place in Oman this week.
