The Vietnam Road Administration (VRA) has just approved the traffic organization plan to exploit two component expressway sections, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board (PMB).

The Ministry of Construction informed that at the working session reporting to the State Inspection Council on the acceptance of construction works this afternoon, Mr. Dinh Cong Minh - Director of Thang Long Project Management Board said that Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressways are expressway projects planned with a scale of 6 lanes. In the phased phase, the scale is 4 lanes, the roadbed width is 17m, and the operating speed is 90km/h.

According to the investor's request, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway (including the main route of more than 35km, interchanges, direct overpasses), Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway (including the main route of more than 54km, overpasses); the works on the route will be inspected by the Council for acceptance to put into operation.

Some remaining construction items including the frontage road system, the connecting route from the intersection of Provincial Road 550 to Ngo Quyen Street (Ha Tinh City) and the parallel road will be completed by the end of June.

Thang Long Project Management Board said that up to now, the investor has organized the construction of the project items in accordance with the design documents that have been appraised and approved; basically collected the complete project documents and organized the acceptance of the construction items in accordance with the provisions of law. Therefore, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressways are ready to put into operation the main route at 6:00 p.m. today.

The Vietnam Road Administration requires investors to organize the construction, completion and acceptance of construction parts, construction items, and construction works according to the design, ensuring safety in normal exploitation and operation.

In the initial stage of putting the expressway into operation , the investor should consider arranging checkpoints to guide traffic participants onto the expressway; preventing unauthorized people and vehicles from participating in traffic on the expressway.

The Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway has a total investment of more than 7,600 billion VND. The project starts at Km 479+117.18 in Duc Tho district (adjacent to the end of Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway), and ends at Km 514+441.33 in Thach Ha district (adjacent to the beginning of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway).

The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway has a total investment of more than 9,700 billion VND. The starting point of the project is at Km 514+300 in Thach Ha district (adjacent to the end point of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway), the ending point is at Km 568+496.07 in Ky Anh district (adjacent to the starting point of Vung Ang - Bung Expressway).
