According to statistics from Dak Lak Irrigation Works Management One Member Limited Liability Company, up to now, out of a total of 252 reservoirs managed by the company, 32 have dried up, including Ea Sup Thuong reservoir, Ea Sup district, the largest irrigation reservoir in Dak Lak province, and this is also the first year this lake has dried up to the bottom.

Ea Sup Thuong Lake has a water surface area of 1,400 hectares with a water volume of more than 146 million m3, of which the irrigation capacity is about 136 million m3, ensuring irrigation water for about 8,300 hectares of crops of all kinds in the communes of Cu Mlan, Ea Bung, Ya To Mot, Ea Le and Ea Sup town.

However, because the project was built and put into use more than 20 years ago, part of the lake bed has been filled in, and partly due to this year's prolonged hot weather, the lake has dried up to the bottom.

According to the leader of the branch of Ea Sup District Irrigation Works Management One Member Limited Liability Company, this is the first year that Ea Sup Thuong Lake has dried up.
