To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 137th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2025). On the morning of April 18, at the An Giang Provincial Museum, the thematic exhibition "President Ton Duc Thang - Journey from 1945-1975" opened and the educational program "Competition to learn about the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang" was launched for students in Long Xuyen city, An Giang province .
The exhibition, which started on April 18 and will last until August 30, 2025, is organized by An Giang Provincial Museum in collaboration with Ton Duc Thang Museum, to introduce to the public, especially the younger generation, the revolutionary journey of President Ton Duc Thang - from a loyal soldier in the Southern workers' movement, to an exemplary leader who always stood side by side with President Ho Chi Minh in the cause of national liberation. In particular, the topic highlights the historical event of President Ton Duc Thang returning to the South after nearly 30 years away from his homeland, bringing strong emotions to the hearts of the people of the whole country. The stories about Uncle Ho's sacrifice and dedication are not only symbols of national solidarity, but also profound lessons about patriotism and the indomitable will to overcome hardships.
Through the exhibition, the public, especially students and the young generation will have the opportunity to get closer to the precious documents, images, and artifacts associated with the life and revolutionary career of President Ton Duc Thang. Each image and each story recreated not only contributes to reviving a heroic period of the nation's history, but also helps viewers deeply feel the moral character and exemplary role model of a simple, loyal, and faithful leader.
In particular, in order to innovate and diversify the forms of disseminating historical and cultural knowledge to students, An Giang Provincial Museum has organized an extracurricular educational program "Competition to learn about the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang".
Within the framework of the program, the outstanding activity called “Who remembers the most” with the theme “The life of President Ton Duc Thang” took place as a useful and interesting learning playground, where students competed to learn about the life, career and great contributions of President Ton Duc Thang to the revolutionary cause of the nation.
Through forms such as: knowledge tests, quick answers, interactive games... the program not only helps students absorb knowledge in a vivid and easy-to-remember way but also inspires in them pride in revolutionary traditions, patriotism and a sense of responsibility for national history.
Diversifying educational forms like this not only helps students approach historical knowledge in a gentle, close and attractive way, but also promotes the spirit of initiative and creativity in learning. Instead of only receiving knowledge one-way through books, students directly interact with documents, images and artifacts associated with the life of President Ton Duc Thang, thereby understanding more deeply about his personality, patriotism, compassion and sacrifice for the people and the country.
The program has first, second, third and consolation prizes for the best groups or individuals, with meaningful rewards such as books, badges, cash... The purpose of the rewards is to encourage the spirit of learning, creativity and solidarity of students throughout the program.
The awards are not only of material value, but also a recognition of the students’ spirit of progress, learning awareness and passion for history. Through timely rewards, the program also motivates students to confidently express themselves and boldly participate in experiential learning activities in a new and creative environment such as the museum.
In addition, the award ceremony is also an opportunity to honor and spread the role models of outstanding students, encouraging other students to strive together. The joyful, friendly and united atmosphere among participating schools is the beauty of education that the program aims for, contributing to building a generation of dynamic students who understand history, are proud of tradition and appreciate the cultural, historical and revolutionary values of the nation./.
